All
access to WirelessAdmin is controlled through a username and password login.
Only users with the proper username and password combination will
have access to WirelessAdmin's functions.
Additionally,
the path in which information flows to and from you WAP phone and
WirelessAdmin is protected by public/private key encryption and IP address
restrictions.
Following the
path the information takes from your WAP phone to WirelessAdmin, we first
start at your phone itself. Information is entered on the
keypad of your phone. This information is local to your phone
and not transmitted until you hit the "GO" or "OK"
key. Once you do, the information that you entered on your
phone is transmitted to the WAP server. The WAP server is
hosted and provided by your cellular provider. This transmission
between your phone and WAP server is protected by public/private
key encryption, the same encryption the most secure Web sites use
and is statistically unbreakable with today's computing power.
From your cellular
provider's WAP server, your information travels over the Internet
to WirelessAdmin, installed on your server. WirelessAdmin allows you to
restrict the IP address of the machine that will connect to it.
By restricting the IP address to the IP address of your cellular
provider's WAP server, you ensure that the only machine that can
connect to your WirelessAdmin is your cellular providers WAP server. WirelessAdmin
also allows you to change the IP port that it listens to for incoming
connections to a port of your choice.
